The new MDT Motion Detector 2.2 m TS 55 is specially designed for wall mounting in corridors, passageways and under doors. With its slim form factor, it integrates seamlessly into standard 55 mm switch ranges – while offering precise sensor technology and extensive KNX functionality.

Its specially shaped lens provides a wide detection angle of 170° with a range of up to 11 m. Two sensors ensure reliable detection. The detector can also recognise the direction of movement – for example, to switch off the lighting early when someone leaves the room.

The triggering sensitivity can be individually adjusted for day, night and presence, allowing maximum flexibility for various applications. Two independent lighting channels allow separate control of lighting zones. In addition, the device includes an HVAC channel with configurable monitoring windows, as well as a dedicated alarm/notification channel.

A short-term presence function allows the delay time to be reduced for brief movements. With Master/Slave capability, scene control for up to eight scenes, and powerful logic functions, the motion detector offers a wide range of applications – from residential to commercial buildings. Lock and forced functions with fallback time ensure demand-based control.

Operation is possible in fully automatic, semi-automatic or manual modes – either automatically or via an external push-button input. The integrated temperature sensor measures room temperature and transmits the data via KNX bus, e.g. for heating or air conditioning control.

The MDT Motion Detector 2.2 m TS 55 is available in pure white matt, pure white glossy and black matt finishes, and visually matches many popular 55 mm switch ranges from leading manufacturers such as GIRA, BERKER, JUNG and MERTEN. It is installed directly into a standard wall box; the appropriate mounting frame is included.
